What happens when all the oil is gone over there? Just a lot of sand.

It varies a lot depending on the country. UAE, Qutar and Kuwait are OK. Saudi Arabia will be "interesting." Iran is in deep, deep trouble once the oil dollars stop.
They don't have enough food to feed the people, nor do they even have enough water to drink without oil.

I just saw an article that said Saudi Arabia was now looking at developing a number of "non commercial" discoveries that only tested at 2000 to 3000 barrels per day! I don't know if there are even half a dozen wells of this size producing today in the onshore lower 48. But at today's prices, they're apparently no longer non commercial in Saudi Arabia.

By the time it runs out, we won't need it anymore.

There are such enormous reserves in the Middle East, we'll have figured out a different energy source for our transportation long before they totally run dry. They will still have some demand, however, since so many things like plastic are made from oil.

I have a friend that sincerely believes that our "energy crisis" is contribed, and the chosen few that control all things are not using our own oil deposits until "they" run out, and then we will hoade ours, and not share.
Hey, its his theory, and he is sticking with it.

Third try. Put all the people in charge, supposed experts, and all other self important types in one room and use the hot air and bovine excrement to generate power. ( lets see if this one makes it into the thread)

We'll never know because we'll all be dead by then. Your great grand kids will have to figure it out.
