Took delivery yesterday on our 1st RV. A Sierra 285RG 5th wheel. After we got it home we opened it up and plugged it in. After a few minutes I heard a sound coming from the fuse box that sounded like a fan running. Didn't here it at the dealer. Is there a fan behind the fuse box? Could not see it or feel anything. It did go off and on a few times so I'm thinking that this is normal but not real sure. Also the light fixture bases on the lights seemed really hot for them little bulbs. Would this be normal? Thanks for helping a 1st timer.

That's the 12V converter kicking in and cooling the fins. It is normal.

Yep, the fan is in your converter. It changes AC into DC voltage. Your lights are 12 volts DC. And yes the lights do get hot.

And congratulations on the new 5er!

I agree, nothing to worry about, it's the converter, which converts AC to DC and charges your 5er's battery.

Happy camping!
