I'm looking to upgrade from our tent trailer. The wife likes the open feel, large windows and dual queen beds of our tent trailer. A 5th wheel is out of the question since we need a canopy, so a TT is in our future. I like the high ceilings, aft queen size bunk beds and plenty of storage (i.e. playing space for the kid) that toy haulers offer. Plus they see seem to be nicely equipped for dry camping (generator, larger tanks, etc.)
I'd love to hear about other people that don't have toys, but have a TH. Also, are there any drawbacks that folks can see from "under" using the trailer.
To me, toyhaulers are much useful than a travel trailer. Better fresh and waste water capacities, built in gensets, more open floor space, versatility, more stout constuction, etc.
Personally, I don't see where a travel trailer has an advantage over a comparable toyhauler (except weight)
We really enjoy using our toyhauler for camping when we don't have the toys. It has lots of room and is spacious. We have little kids, so it gives them lots of room to play inside at night or when the weather is bad. Gotta love the water capacity though.
I have a Fuzion 362. We carry our Harley's in the back about 50% of the time. When we're toyless, we use the garage as a screened-in room. Drop the rear gate, zip in the screen, open the windows and side door, BAM, second living area. At night, close it all up, drop the two beds down from the ceiling, BAM, another bedroom. If I never carried toys, I'd still have a toy-hauler for my RV.
We specifically bought a toyauler for that reason and used it exclusively the first year on a permanent camping lot. We found the area under the bed in the rear nice for the kids to play toys and games. We bought some of the foam flip beds and they use those as chairs. Make nice spare beds for the kids when guests camp. Keeps the clutter out of the main sitting area and the kids have their own area.
In the past year, we have been towing the toyhauler (still mainly as just a camper), but do like the option of being able to drop the back and load a big toy for transport. I can't imagine ever thinking about buying a bunkhouse. We got the toyhauler without the dividing wall and haven't looked back since.

I dont have a TH, but if they were less expensive when I was younger, and I had my children around I would have one for the room and the making the ramp a screen room they have so many great options, and if you ever did get some ORV's you would have the area to carry them without having to buy another vehicle to haul them.

We don't have any toys - yet. We want a Rzr. We do want to take our Yahama Warrior with us when we visit family in NM later this year. We bought the trailer to get the heck out of the heat on weekends in the summer.
By a "canopy" do you mean a topper for the truck bed?
We have a fiver toy hauler, and love it. No "toys" but do have a chest freezer and full size refer with a keg inside. We also have the Outback room we set up for my patio table and chairs. Once in a while we consider the "comfort" of a conventional fiver, then sit out in the screen room and have a pitcher.
We have a Raptor 3712TS (see sig), but we don't have any "toys". I build/fly large scale RC airplanes and the DW quilts, so the garage on the Raptor is full of airplanes and flying stuff and a sewing machine/table. We also use the rig as a base camp for fishing, and the garage is the perfect area to take off/dry wet gear.
The garage is also useful for the grandkids as a play area when the weather prevents them from getting outside - not that it ever rains in the PNW.
Toyhaulers are extremely versitle and roomy, so it's just a matter of letting your imagination go to work!
