We have the Raptor 3612 & lots of toys, but we also use it for "toyless" trips too.
Lot's of room for bicycles, strollers, rafts & floaties, BBQ, toys, hanging wet towels & bathing suits.
Very versatile!
I have the Raptor 3814 and although we have never towed it without our toys, the campground we keep it at, is also a private golf club and we use it there and store our clubs in the garage, fishing equipment etc.. We have "toyed" with the idea of having other families use it for sleeping if that situation comes up when we are toy free and camping. I also like having the built in genny. Lots of room for stuff!

A 5th wheel is out of the question since we need a canopy, so a TT is in our future. I like the high ceilings, aft queen size bunk beds and plenty of storage (i.e. playing space for the kid) that toy haulers offer. Plus they see seem to be nicely equipped for dry camping (generator, larger tanks, etc.)
I'd love to hear about other people that don't have toys, but have a TH. Also, are there any drawbacks that folks can see from "under" using the trailer.
Tell us the real story: you're going to talk your wife into getting a toy hauler now, and then in a few months you will start working on a couple of dirt bikes or a golf cart. Just kidding.
We don't have a separate garage but the open floor plan works great for my 1-1/2 year old daughter to run around. They come in pretty handy - I hauled an inflatable raft that I can't fit in a short bed. Also I think they hold their value better and are easier to sell than a TT.

DB Cooper! who could be so devious! That's just wrong! I swear it was my wifes idea to buy the quads, I just wanted a little more room.
Jeez can't a moderator delete this thread before we all get caught!
We love camping in ours, going to the eastern sierras in 9 dyas! I love going without toys during the summer, makes for an easy trip without loading up stuff! Plus you always have the room to take stuff, and the ramp makes a great deck!
I am in this group for sure. The floor space is excellent for bring other gear or kids toys. It is also nice and open. Of course not all THs are big but the length of ours keeps us out of some places we would like to go. This is more of an issue with my wife than myself. I am good with hanging out in the desert for a few days and not needing any hookups. The tanks sizes and generator is specifically what drew me to a TH.

Exactly the reasons we were drawn to the Toy hauler from a Starcraft 36RT PopUp. While we often take the buggy, we sometimes leave it at home if there's no riding nearby. With it unloaded, we love the open-air feeling of the TH that we had with the PUP.
Then, if you add the Outback awning and screen room, you can do this:
And - like you said - with a generator and larger tanks they're ideal for boondocking, dry camping, and tailgating!
