I am new to the Rv industry, I am looking at getting either a Cyclone Toy Hauler or a Wide Open Toy Hauler. I am hoping that anyone out there that has any information good or bad will let me know, before I make a final decision on buying one. If anyone out there has any other types of recommendations that would be great. I have been doing some research for the past year. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am far from an expert here, and we are going into my first toy hauler (we have had 2 truck campers), but we shopped and looked at a A LOT of trailers before making the move. What it came down to was price (Of course), the dealer, the reputation of the manufacturer, and well, just talking to a lot of people who owned variuos trailers. Also, I looked at what worked best for my situation. Would all my stuff fit? Did I have the number of beds I needed? Was the bathroom roomy enough and did the layout work for the DW? All things to consider and look at. Also, do you like the colors...in and out? That basic.
I have a 2005 Raptor 3018TT. The thing I like about it regarding the garage, is that the garage or portion carrying the Toys, it also the main living room. It has two double beds that drop down from the ceiling when the toys are removed providing a large open space for relaxing. We role out a piece of carpet to cover the rubber mat flooring and it like being in a regular camper except I think it has more room.
I like the idea of the 5th wheels for maneuvering, but the separate garages are not for me. Then again I do not always take a toy. If you going to always take a bike, 4 wheeler, jet ski, etc. then the separate garage may be best.
Jason's comments are what it boils down too, what you need and want most. None have everything I want in one unit. If it did, I think it would have 18 wheels and my F-250 might not want to come near it.
How are things in K-Falls Greg. We drive through there on our way to Sunriver every year. I have been very happy with my Thor Tahoe 26FS. It is nicely equipt, well put together, and looks good. I have heard nothing but good things about them.

It's an exercise in compromise. Study the floor plan and dimensions well. All the major brands are similar in fit and finish.(Good, but I have yet to see great)
I've had two years to shop since my last TH. I believe the Cyclone was a good bang for the buck. Raptors and Rage'ns were also on my wish list.
I was shopping for, and ended up with a Rage'n. They were a bit out of my price range new. But I found a nice used one. I'm glad I got a good deal because in the end it is no better than my last TH. (Good but not great)
I was told my Keystone Tailgator was a "cheap" one. After many great trips the next owner still got a very good unit. It was built as good or better than many others I've seen.
Best of luck and always "sleep on it".
