We recently purchased a 2008 Roadtrek 190 Popular. We took it in to have a brake controller and tow dolly installed. The mechanic told us the blue wire at the brake harness in the front is supposed to run all the way to the 7 prong receptacle at the rear. It does not. Chevy looked at the wiring diagram for us, and it is supposed to be there. Has anyone else had this problem with a new Roadtrek?

Coiled at the end of the GM frame. Roadtrek may have extended frame and not all the wiring.

Thank you Bud. I'll have my husband check to see if he can figure out where the GM frame ends.

Have a splendid day!

Since the RT 190 is built in a standard GM van body, there's certainly _no_ frame extension involved. But I can't offer any more than that; never had a reason to equip either of my 190's for towing.

They add a 7-way plug during production, but it is only wired as 4-way for towing the delivery cars, should they be delivered that way. It's just a courtesy and it's easier to do it on every vehicle than to do the wiring at the time of shipping. The trailer hitch is a standard feature because it is there to protect the propane tank, not because they assume every RT owner will be towing.
The plug is only wired for running lights, left turn/brake, right turn/brake, and ground. The brake control line and charge line are not hooked up, neither is the reverse light wire.

Thank you all. We are taking it in to the dealership this weekend to have them run the wire. I am glad they found it before we head out on our first trip. We'll be towing an Echo so we can get to those special fishing places the RT wouldn't make it to.

Have a wonderful day!
