Okay, now that I got that out of my system,
Junmy:
I am truly sorry to hear of your wife getting bit by a dog. Not knowing the circumstances I would not comment on the dog owner etc. But, I am sorry to hear of your wife's misfortune. I hope there were no permanent injuries.
ljr:
I whole hardedly agree. If I was originally told this by the campground, I would have moved on.

Thanks for the correction, I stand corrected.

I stayed at the Seaport Campground over Memorial Day Weekend and found them to be very pet friendly. I camped with my two dogs (both 2 year old yellow labs). The park even had a pet clean up station and dog walk area in the back of the park.

Check the status of these laws/bills in your state.
Many states have either tabled or recinded these bills.
BSL are and will continue to be challenged and MANY states are recinding them or tabling them. EITHER WAY they are NOT laws until they are passed.
Several states have taken on the insurance companies for restricting citizens rights regarding their pets and other issues within their own home, and congress found their activities illegal and violated civil liberties and they were mandated to stop immediately.
Insurance companies that have instituted these restrictions on an exisiting policy are not always going back and contacting the policy owners.
Read your state bills where you live or the state bills where you are going to travel.
You will find insurance companies and these places do NOT KNOW the current 'status' of these bills. And sadly are still using old media news about bills being 'introduced' to congress as their only basis. They don't have a clue whether they were passed or not.
That said a CG can make any rules they want, but if they state that it is their insurance company's rule, if you so choose to pursue it, look up to see if they were one of the states that the government has put a stop to it.

I am a small dog owner and I have seen many aggressive small dogs I would not like to encounter in the campgound.
