I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Costco jeans. The Kirkland jeans have held up fine for me and I can still stuff my fat self into them. They are a relaxed fit.

There was a brand that the loggers used to wear, Frisco IIRC? They were more canvas pants than "jeans" but they wouldn't wear out.
I've got 3 pair of carhartts that have lasted something close to 10 years now....although they are showing their age.

Filson maybe?

I'm trying to be a carhartt fan but the last two made in mexico work jeans I've purchased have worn out prematurely, even compared to my plain old Lee jeans. These were denim type jeans though so I think I'll try the canvas or duck jeans next. May even get the kind with suspender buttons on them and start using suspenders. I guess wearing suspenders would be my official right of passage to the old guy world.

I get Rustler jeans for work. Generally they cost $11.00 to $12.00 a pair. When I feel like high quality I get Wrangler at around $15.00 a pair. I think Rustler are off brand Wrangler anyway. I have no need for Levi's. Too pricey! I do like Filson wool trousers and wool shirts but I generally have a hard time justifying the price. Whipcord wool trousers are running around $130 or so and the wool shirts about that too. Too rich for my blood! I did find military surplus wool shirts and wool trousers a few years ago and they work well. The shirts are actually machine washable and are very good for canoeing in cool weather. And I really don't care if they're olive drab ugly! BTW the shirts are getting scarce lately. I think the trousers are M1951 model and I have 4 or 5. I have no idea what the military model of the shirts is and the ones I have a getting ragged. Someone told me they were made for Korea so I might be out of luck.

I wear Rustlers also, which is made by Wrangler. They go on sale at Bi-Mart stores(Pacific NW) for $8.99 quite often. Though not quite as heavy a denim as the 13-3/4 oz. Wranglers, Levis, Lees, and some other brands but they still easily last me 2 to 3 years. I think they are either 11 or 12 oz. denim.
USA made Carhartt's are the most durable though but cost considerably more than the Rustler brand!

Mute point. Most people outgrown them in the waist, due to the shrinkage of jeans or weight gain, before they wear them out.

Actually I'm 62 and I have had a 36" waist and a 32" inseam length since i was 18. The Rustlers seem to last a couple of years worn for work (heating and air conditioning) and the Wranglers (worn mostly for casual wear) seem to last 5 or 6 years and then seem to be stained and become work pants anyway. Like I said, I'm cheap.

Not to be overly a.n.a.l but I believe you meant "Moot point", right?
Anyway, I have never had a pair of pants continue shrinking after they were washed at least once (shrink-to-fit pants took about 3 washes before they stopped shrinking)! And, I still have a pair of Lee hip-hugger, bell-bottom pants that I wore in my high school days which are at least 40 years old and the material is still not rotten nor have they shrank. Of course they have been stored most of those years but I do take them out once in a while just to see if I still can get into them!
Now the waist expanding is another issue and does plague many people!

Having been a construction electrician for the past 37 years,I have worn out a few hundred pair of jeans. Started with Levi and Lee, and dropped them when they went off-shore. I have had a few pair of Diamond Cut,and Carhardt. You have to pick through the Carhardts to find American made. Presently wear Pointer Brand, made in Bristol, Tn., in business over 75 years, no lay-offs.
