Before we moved last year, Allison would walk home from work, and my retired neighbor and I would be in the front yard, chewing the fat, both in our "retirement uniforms" -- white tee shirts! Get 'em dirty, throw 'em in the washer with some detergent and bleach, and they're ready for the next "honey-do" project.
Another tip Les.....if you can't wear a white T-shirt most days of the year, you may be residing at too high a latitude or altitude. Move South.

Ken has it right. The white T-shirt is a guy's fashion statement, that understands what is to be a guy. Showing up in some costume, or uniform designer shirt other than the T, a guy would likely be laughed at, (by other guys.)

Les sez;

I'm smack dab in the Canadian Prairies, where it gets real cold in the winter and pretty hot in the summer. I'm usually wearing one of my Mr. Big and Tall store T-shirts. My wife says no to white...says... I need to have more colour in my wardrobe, so I have red, maroon, grey, green, black and blue. In the winter I keep wearing my Tees, but throw a polar fleece zip over.

There is nothing wrong with suspenders, as looking at them is way better than looking at the alternative. Crack kills you know.
Yes, that is really a good reason to wear suspenders.

Les,

I'd do what I could to spend as many of the coldest months as I could way down South somewhere. In fact, I'd be tempted to emigrate at least one of my new cars, a motorcycle, the RV and the wife with me to the deep south, to where I could enjoy those T-shirts without a sweatshirt over them all Winter. Arizona and Florida come to mind. Heard there's lots of tourist T-shirt shops down there.

I have a sweet tender nature, however I enjoy sharing my thoughts and opinions.

Good idea, but like many good ideas we will have to wait for it's time has come. My wife, who is much younger as she tells it, will still be working for a few years after I retire. Then...look out!!

Donate blood or volunteer at a blood bank then you will have lots of shirts. I haven't bought a tee shirt in years. Plus donating blood makes you feel good

Another plus is that it takes less beverages in the afternoon to get the same effect! I've gotten plenty of donor shirts and I use the money I save in the afternoon to go camping with.

At the end of the day Les, it will probably be a good idea to run all our ideas past your wife. I don't know if she'd want you running around town in the middle of the day in that Hawiian shirt, without her. You'd look like you might have too much time and money, on your hands, and could get into trouble.

I always run everything by my wife, first. BTW, I consider myself a very wise man.
