I have just purchased a Jayco 32BHDS trailer and am having a hard time finding a tongue lock. I stopped by the local RV (Jayco) dealer and tried all of the one they offered, however, none would fit. WE tried the Gorilla that slides over the flange, the type that inserts in the ball and the bar goes over the tongue. Anyway, we tried all the 2 5/8 locks and none would fit. I would definetly like to find some type of lock. If all else fails I could go wheel lock route. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

Last month we took delivery of a new 2008 Jayco JayFlight G2 23FB & our dealer suggested a lock set for us.

He suggested the Master Lock Keyed Alike Barbell Coupler, Coupler Latch & Receiver Lock Set. The Mfg # is 3774DAT. We bought the set & all three including the coupler lock works like a charm.

Lots of different opinions on this subject, but here's what I use. I bought it at WallMart awhile back.

I have a Jayco Eagle TT. Look at my post on 4/14 and you will see what I am using. Never had any problems with this lock.

Hope this helps.

I think I am going to forget about a coupler lock and use the Fulton wheel lock. Quick to put on, nice orange color, and fits like a glove. Also, don't have to worry about someone hauling it away on the chains. West Marine $49.

I too experienced the same problem you are having. After trying many locks, I found a stainless steel coupler latch lock made by Lifelonglocks at Sportsmans Warehouse. It was the closest one I found to almost work. I needed just a "hair" of the lock to be machined for a perfect fit. For additional security measure, I brought with me to the machine shop a 2 5/16' ball and had the shank cut off. I insert the ball into the coupler and lock it for peace of mind. I can load a picture later if you need one. Good luck in securing your trailer.

I went to my local hardware store and purchased the old-fashioned bike lock that goes between the frame on either side of the wheel and wheel spokes. Works just fine. The shank is just the right size to fit in the lock hole of the hitch on the trailer. A $6 solution made of quality materials by Master Lock.

A UMAX from Trimax should fit if you are looking for in insert-type lock. www.trimaxlocks.com.

I bought the Trimax UMAX100 ... fit's like a charm on my 2008 Jayco Jay Flight 24rks. Amazon now has it on sale for $53 with free shipping. But I bought directly from Trimax on their website ... and had Trimax key the UMAX100 same as my receiver lock.
