I have a 2005 5th Wheel that has a Dometic Air Conditioner on the roof and a forced air furnace. This is controlled by a hand held remote. Recently I am having problems getting the remote to turn the furnace on and off. I have tried new batteries in the remote and the
AC works on a manual over ride. Is it likely the remote control or the censor on the ceiling?
Most likely the board on the A/C unit has failed. A common symptom

I need to understand what you mean by "Turning on and off"
If you mean you select FURNACE (or Heat) and it does nothing... Or you "unselect" heat (or press OFF) and it keeps running (For more than a short time) then look to other lights you may have added.. I've found that florescent lights can cause issues with I/R remotes
If you mean you select 70 degrees.. it is up to 90, and no sign of it shutting off, That one I can fix for you.. Very easy
Put a small fan somewhere blowing room air at the sensor (the little nub) on the controlling A/C
NOTE: when running on "COOL" it works best if you do NOT set the fan on AUTO
Same problem

We had the same remote in a TT from Outback, and it was a piece of garbage. First the dealerhsip said that the batteries were bad, after telling them that I already changed batteries, they gave us a new remote. It worked for a little while, then quite one day. Took TT back to dealership and the swapped out the board. That remote system never worked right from day one very frustrating. I will bever buy another RV with a remote for the A/C & heat control.
