Hello, I JUST bought a 1992 Four Wind and I don't have a manual to tell me how to turn on the furnace or roof a/c
I found the LP gas valve near the tank and I opened it. The gas still does not come out since I can't use the stove and and the furnace does not turn on. (I had the knob on pilot position and nothing happend)
The seller gave me a sheet from an RV dealer who checked the Rv and everything was in working condition. I simply don't knwo how to do it !
Can anyone spare some how to tips ?
Thanks,
Claudia

Best thing you could do would be to take that sheet with the dealer checklist. Look for an address or phone number of the dealer and set up an appointment to have someone show you how everything works. Bring a video camera if you have one to record the training session. I don't know what they would charge, but I'd bet the money spent would be worth it.
You might find a local RV park and ask around there and see if anyone is feeling helpful. You might buy them dinner in trade for a training lesson.
I'm a newby and received the manuals with my used 90 Tioga and have spent several evenings reading and re-reading the manuals for everything.

If the gas has been off for awhile sometimes it takes some time to get the gas through. I hold a lighter there while the gas is on so it lights when the gas comes through. Be careful with gas if you do not know what you are doing.

check to see if there is a propane detector. Sometimes there is an automatic shut off associated with the detector. It may require a reset.

Claudia,
I have a 94 Four Winds and just sent you a private message with some hints. Let me know if they work.

I assume you are talking about the pilot on the oven. Not only do you have to turn it to pilot, you have to push it in and hold it until the pilot lights. Before you do all of that, turn the burner on the stove and light it to make sure the system is purged of air. A suggestion is to use one of those long lighters to get back to the pilot. It is pretty far back in the oven and a cigarette lighter will be a pain.

This is the best advise for you. We all had to learn the first time from someone. Just be safe.
Have a great time camping,

One more thing. The hot water hether gave me the most problems. My 1992 Four Winds has a know with 3 positions : on - off- pilot. The pilot light must be lit with a long lighter by hand. Then when it holds teh falme the know can be turned back to on. As a new RV owner I did not knwo I had to light it with a lighter nor I would have dared to do so !

Heh, heh, Cla, you must not have a gas water heater in your house. They work the same way. When it comes time to replace the one in the RV, you'll think you've gone to Heaven. They now come with automatic ignition -- just flip the switch inside the coach and it lights itself.
