Barry Bonds wants the players union to investigate if there is colusion among the owners not to sign him. Granted the guy could hit 30 Home Runs this year but do you think the owners really want him. The A's could have signed him but chose go resign Frank Thomas. Thomas is 5 years younger than Bonds. Think it has anything to do with the fact that Thomas is a positive influence on all of the younger players on that team and Bonds would just be a cancer.
The A's were 5 games over 500 when they signed Thomas and now they are 10 games over. Time for Barry to pack it in.

What if there is collusion? It's a free market and employers don't have to employ anyone they don't want to. IMHO Bonds is a tarnished prima donna - I wouldn't want him either!

Also note with the A's signing of Thomas that the A's are paying him the pro rated minimum salary. Its Toronto who is on the hook for the millions of dollars due Thomas.
As for Bonds, the teams he wants to play for don't need him. Certainly the A's, with Thomas and Cust don't have room for him. Who really needs a part time player for the amount of money he made with the Giants?
I don't think the owners are in collusion, they just don't want the hassle. If it wasn't for the Giants, could an arguement be made that Bonds would have been out of baseball a few years earlier?

Agree with diceshooter60. The Giants were the only reason he was still in baseball. Oh yes, that and a contract which ended last year.
Giants did make money on him though. He sure brought fans into the stadium.

Why? They already have an overpaid, underperforming, steriod-ehanced DH.
