Hey everyone,
Wondering if someone can recommend a nice campground close to the beach and not too expensive in the Atlantic Beach area of North Carolina? I'm hearing the Holiday Travel is very nice, but really don't want to pay close to $100/night.

That's about it for that area -- the campgrounds have been selling out to the condos.
There are more choices on the Outer Banks or close to Wilmington.
Happy Trails.

Goose Creek Resort is on the Bogue Sound but not on the ocean. You might want to check it out. It isn't that far from the Holiday Trav L Park. We have stayed there many times.

Unfortunately, Holiday Travel Park is the only ocean front campground left in that area. The other 3 campgrounds have sold to developers. There is one in Stella which is before the waterway on Highway 58. It is White Oak Shores
We are going there July 4th weekend to try it out.

If you don't need full hookups, Cedar Point in Croatan NF may be an option. It has access to the inland waterway (about five miles from Emerald Isle), electric at each site and a dump station but water spigots are centralized. The johns and showers have been clean in all our previous visits. Much cheaper and far more laid back than what you'll find in the private offerings in that area.

Cedar Point is currently $17 per nite. Alot less than $100. They do not take ressy but if you get there during the week you should be ok. They have good nature trail and it is good place to ride bikes.
