thanks for the NEW Dometic Refrigerator recall info. Ours recently quit working (2004 model) and we were checking the forums on how to troubleshoot when I came across your posting about the expansion and extension of the previous Dometic refrigerator recall. We would not have known about this without your posting. In addition, my brother-in-law's also quit working and he checked the Dometic site and his model number and serial number are now on the expanded-extended recall list. I recommend that anyone and everyone that has a Dometic refrig. check the Dometic site to see if theirs is on the list. This problem could cause a fire! Signed, grateful in FL!

Would like to add that IF your Dometic refrig has STOPPED working they will do NOTHING to repair or replace......their "recall" only involves installation of a new fire protection shield that will prevent fire IF the refrig fails....been there, done that....went round and round with them to NO avail.....ours was ONLY 3.5 years old.....good luck everyone with your Dometic problem....IMHO, of course

Guess I got in at a good time! Our 2000 model stopped shortly after we bought it used in '04. One year ago Dometic replaced the entire cooling unit PLUS the electric heating unit on it.

Just found this recall! I cannot open this link. Says it's been moved. Where can I find the list of recalls? We are scheduled to leave for Alaska on July 28! Thank you.

Sorry the link didn't work. I have fixed it. Click on it now and it will take you to the recall thread in Tech Issues Forum.
You can also go here to put in your refrigerator information and it will tell you if yours is one of the recalled units.
