Looking for input from those who have the kickdown version of HWH leverers (i.e. they fold down first then telescope).

I am considering installing HWH levelers.

Camping World and local RV service are both telling me that is the only ones that will fit on mine (Camping World is going to look at the RV but based on the model, they think it will need kickdowns).

Did some searches on the forum and saw a few posts, but I was wondering if others out there had good or bad experiences with this type of leveler.

(RV is a 2008 Four Winds Dutchmen Express 23A on a Chevy Chassis)

Thanks for input on this type of leveler.

The kick down levels do need a little more maintenance. They need to be kept clean. Takes a few minutes per leveler.
The hose connections between the jack and the mainlines have been a little troublesome.
Part of my problems were from the after-market dealer who installed them. Didn't do very good job on routing of hoses.

I have the kick down HWH leveling jacks on my Blue Bird. They work fine, no problems.

We have the HWH kickdown levelers on our '02 Minnie Winnie--they were installed before we took delivery. Had one "problen"--one of the jacks--left front--didn't want to "kickdown". A friend nudged the jack and it worked great. This was a one-time thing. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them .

I had the kick down on my Pace Arrow and now have them on my Coachman. Wanted to get the telescoping jacks but they would not fit on my coach. HWH said they would but no good. I have had a few problems with actuators but replaced under warranty. Would not do without them, good investment.

Could anyone take a picture of these under their coach please? I've never heard of them and I'm looking for something to level the C. Are they simply stabilizers or do they actually lift the rig? Thanks

Thanks for everyone's input so far.

To answer the one question, yes they do raise the rig.

Here is a url to a page that has a demonstration video that is on HWH's site:

http://www.hwhcorp.com/kickdown3.html

I'll understand better when I talk to the tech at camping world with my rig on the lift, but I believe they are used in situations where mounting the straight telescoping ones would hang down too far in the retracted position.

I have them on my 1999 36' HR Endeavor. They work like a champ. The only thing I've ever had to do other than check the fluid level is last year I had one spring break. I went ahead and replaced them all.

Had them on my 2002 Coachmen 31" Class C. They worked great. Never had a problem.
Good luck,
John
