Had mine done today. Took about an hour. My son and I got to look thru new trailers while they worked on ours. I'll be keeping my unit for a while longer. Service was good. If your in Houston, I recommend Toppers out 290 just before 2920.

A bad day camping beats a good day at work everytime!!!!
So of course, my Dometic refer is in the recall. I looked it up on the recall page, but I also comfirmed Friday, with a telephone call. I also called my dealer to make sure they were one of the Dometic service centers, which Dometic had verified earlier. Wow did I get a run around for a short time!
In my call, to my dealer's service department, I asked if they did Dometic refridgerater recall work. The responce was, why I thought mine was defective? I explained, that my model and serial no's matched the recall. He asked if I had any problems with my refer. I responded, like you mean my TT burning down and killing me, my wife and grandkids? Then he really got defensive. So that call ended by me telling him I would contact Dometic, but I asked if he wanted my phone No. just incase I could get the TT in for the fix. He took the number. During my call (right after I hung up from idiot dealer) I got a tone indicating someone was trying to call. Caller ID indicated it was my dealer. I finished my complaint to Dometic, and called the dealer back. Well long story short, my ex-dealer is a subsiderary of a national corperate camping stealership. I now have a new dealer, who will be sending a service man out to my TT tomorrow morning. If he verifies that the Dometic refer is on the recall, he will fix it free of charge. I might tip the serviceman though!

Oh by the way, has anyone had their refridgerator fixed, and then experienced problems after the fix? Sometimes band-aid fixes, cause more problems that they are worth.
I'm still trying to figger out whether or not this is the same re-call as the letter that I got before. It seems to be worded differently and my dealer tells me that it is the same.Butttt,it still sounds different for the fix.Guess I'll have to call Dometic.

Yes, same recall, same fix. The only difference is that they have added more serial numbers to the recall list.

Thanks...Just put differently in the letter.. It would seem to me that the rv dealers would be sending the serial #s of the ones they've done and then we wouldn't get all this mail.. But then,on the other hand,it's nice to get something besides bills and all that junk mail from Good Sam and AARP and all those people trying to give you all those credit cards when you don't have any credit....No wonder this country is in a financial mess...
yes i was not o the list
checked it when i first was aware of the recall
guess what i got in the mail today.....
now i need to get it fixed before i leave for a long weekend in two weeks
Got recall letter last week, not sure how they got my name, bought trailer used and did not send any information to Dometic or to Starcraft. Called and got number and list of repair facilities. One was out of business and the second one stated he did not do recall work any longer. My trailer is parked in a park long term and I really did not want to hitch up and go through the hassle. Called the guy back and asked how much he would charge to just come fix it, $180.00 plus a $45.00 trip charge. I told him to just do it. He said it was quite a job, do not know the park people say this is a very honest and good repair man.
