The water is fine, the locals drink it all the time.

I brush my teeth with it, I eat lettuce, etc but I dont guzzle it.

I drink bottled just like I do in the US...

Go back and re-read Jonna's posting; it is the most complete - with one exception. Many problems come from the ice cubes. They may say the ice is made from purified water, but why take the chance on wasting days of your expensive trip doing what you could do in your bathroom at home? Simply say "sin hielo" when you order your drink.
