We always stay at India Creek Campground. 1/4 mile up-river on the Gold Beach side of the Wedderburn Bridge. Nice, clean quiet and friendly.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and defiantly shouting "Wow, what a ride!".

We stayed at turtle creek also and loved it, It is set in an inlet and doesn't get the wind that the beach gets. we did day trips north and south and had a very good 14 day vacation from here

Just up the road in Port Oroford is Arizona Beach Campground. We have stayed there 3 times each time we have had a spot as close to the beach as you can get without being in the water. That was 3 years ago. The people who owned it were trying to sell it so I do not know the status at the present time. It was an excellent place to camp at that time. Check Camp Ground reviews to see what the present status is. Good luck.

Irelands RV Park is excellent and pretty much within a hundred steps to the ocean. On the Ocean side etc. We have stayed a few times for a week and loved it.

Nobody's mentioned Irelands. http://www.goldbeachinn.com/irv_index.htm Right on the beach--well there is a little hill you go over but yes you can hear the ocean. Much closer than Turtle Rock.

We haven't camped at Turtle Rock CG but have driven through it 3 or 4 times and they have all those park model trailers setup and it would fell like camping in someones backyard.
We like Ireland's and the campgrounds up the Rogue River or Arizona CG and Humbug SP. north of Gold Beach.
