Im so disappointed in both the jayco 213 and rv direct. picked up my camper from storage and found that the linoleum flooring was cracked, still took it camping this week and the rear slided out made some noises going out and when tried to get it in yesterday it wouldnt go in. so i called rv direct in Des Moines where i bought it and they told me " what are we supose to do " take it to a jayco dealer or bring it up here and drop it off and we will call you when its done. well its a long drive and with the bed still out i didnt think it would be good on it to drive all that way with it out. so i took it to a local jayco dealer, the dealer asked where i bought it, he said I should take it back to where i bought it or what till this fall when they have time. the biggest problem is for saving 2,000 dollars i now have a camper i cant use and still have to make payments on it
any help on what i can do?

Based on what the local dealer told you, you now know 2 places not to buy a camper from. Sorry to hear about all your troubles. Jayco normally makes a very good product. Have you tried contacting them directly for an alternate repair facility?

Sorry to hear of your bad experience with the 213. We have the same unit, 213 EXP, and have had an enjoyable experience with it. Have you consulted the owner's manual for the manual way to retract the slide? A little noise is normal during use, but it sounds like yours may be in some kind of a bind, or the electric motor may be having issues. Look under the interior portion of the slide to be sure nothing gotten caught in the gear mechanism that would have made it stop working.
As for Jayco, keep in mind it was a dealer, and not the company (Jayco) that wouldn't service you. I'd call Jayco directly and see what they recommend. Some time back there was another post about a bad run of vinyl flooring that made it's way into Jayco's warehouse, another person posted having the same splitting problem. Good luck, I know this has got to be very, very frustrating!

That is the biggest problem with buying from RV Direct or another dealer further away than your local dealer. You may save some money, but when it comes time for any type of work, the closet dealer may give you the run around or say exactly what they said "when we have time" They will give the people that bought from them first priority.
Sorry to hear about your issues. Hope everything works out for you.

Heck I get no better treatment from the dealer where I bought my TT.

I paid my local Jayco dealer $5K more than RVD and they took nearly six weeks to fix a small leak.

If you call the manufacturer, they should set you up with a dealer or other shop that can do your repairs. They certainly won't want you to have a bad experience with their product. They have a great reputation...hopefully they will take care of you. Good luck.

But, if you did not buy from them, could be alot longer.
I am not saying this will be the case with all, just what I have heard through the grapevine. We all know what most RV "Dealers/Sales People" are like, they will tell you what you want to hear... just to make a sale, then after that, they would not give you the time of day.

Not familiar with your trailer. But that happened to me a few years ago. My wife ran the livingroom slide out and didn't notice the switch button stuck. It burned out the motor. We were in North Carolina at the time. When ready to go home slide wouldn't come in. Called dealer and chief serviceman got on the phone. He stayed on the phone and gave me instructions on cranking it in by hand. Not fun but he got us on our way. Had to get a new motor.
Anyhow (didn't mean to get so windy) Call Jayco some one there should be able to give inst. on getting it in manually.
Hope that helps get you on your way!
