Way better. Every year has been better. I expect the next 20 to 50 years to only get better.

Sure am! Free to eat, sleep, go to church, vote, play golf, do pretty much as I please. There are brave young men and women willing to die so we can all have our freedom. We owe them a vote of thanks, don't you think?

I am no worse because I've retired, My wife lost her job after 25 years so she would say no. Kids are working for a lot less with no benifits so they would say no. A lot of our friends and neighbors would say no as they are without work.

Yes and No.... depending on how you look at it...

Four years ago my health was better, but my income was less..
Today my health is worse but my income has increased..

BUT.... on the other hand ...

Four years ago my income went a lot farther and so could I because gas was cheaper ..

Today my income does not go as far because the true cost of living went up 23% but the government only gave out a 2.4% C.O.L. raise.

And due to the increase of gas everything else has gone up also..

So I guess the bottom line is .....

everything is about the same as four years ago.... providing I stay home and spend 20 hours a day instead of only 16 hours ...on the 12 different RV forums that I am a member of...

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

Yes, I am 2 years closer to retirement and DH took an early retirement 3 years ago. Less money but less headaches, as I have gotten older I finally figured out the more money you make the more you spend. I think it might be a good training for a budget for retirement.

There's something fishy wrong about this poll. The majority of people here on this forum are NOT from the group of people who are NOT doing so good. If you're down and out, would you be here?

Personally, I was better off 4 years ago,.....I had a dream job. Today, I have NO job, and NO prospects, in my field.

The ONLY reason I've got a motorhome and a house is because I paid for them with money that was earned many years ago.
