It's obvious to me, whatever you call what NASCAR offers for entertainment, IT'S WORKING! Attendance in the stands, and number of TV viewers is UP!
Now, if Indy Cars would just start doing some of the same,.......I guess it still wouldn't be the same. I mean, who would you throw beer cans at,....certainly not Danica. Perhaps Rowdy could go over there,....

There were some who would have liked to last Saturday....Bad thing about Rowdy coming over to Indy Cars is that he'd only get to bang wheels once..then he'd learn that it doesn't work too well in open wheelers.

I have no idea why Liriope thinks fans hate Jeff Gordon because he beat Dale Sr. Where in heck did you ever get that idea. My dislike of Gordon has nothing to do with that. I also think his limited education shouldn't be brought into a conversation about Kyle who was born with the golden spoon in his mouth. One thing I can guarantee you, you will never see the day that Kyle Busch wins the Daytona 500 and have the crews line up and shake his hand like the day the #3 car won. I never go to a track and boo any driver whether I like him or not. The biggest thing you could do to Busch now would be to have total silence when he is introduced. Talk about being unnerving. LOL LOL Bet it would work to.

It amazes me all the people who hate Kyle Bush "because he has no class." These are the same people who loved Dale Sr "who had no class, AND only an eight grade education." You cannot have it both ways. You hated Gordon because he consistently beat Dale Sr and you hate Kyle because he consistently beats Jr. Give it a rest, he is the best thing to hit Nascar since the "classless Dale Sr."

Get a clue, Dale Earnhardt was the God of NASCAR and Kyle is just a wimpy kid.

About Bush's sunglasses during interviews! I wish he would wear a full dark face shield where his face would be completely hidden!(And yes I turned the telly off as soon as the race was over so I didn't have to look at that face right before going to bed!) I hate night mares!

The important accomplishment is that ALL of us will be watching next time, to see if Rowdy is going to do it again. And, either way, there will be cheering and/or booing. If he loses, there will be cheering. If he wins, there will be cheering AND booing. As a driver, THAT'S when you know you've made it.

CD IMHO Attendance is down, there are a lot of empty seats, if memory serves me correct tickets were still selling for this years Daytona 500 right up until racetime.

As for the TV numbers being up, I do not believe it for a minute, it is too easy to skew the numbers, NA$CAR has been doing it for years. Myself I have been falling asleep during races more often then not the last couple of years.......

A lot of longtime fans are tuning out the races in the last couple of years.

Dale Sr only gave the finger to opposing drivers, not the fans, that is a whole other can worms, yes he rattled the other drivers cages, but so did Petty, Allison (all three of them), Baker(Buddy and Buck) too name a few, that was the law back then, Dale was just a throwback to the days when you fought behind the haulers to settle a score, whereas now they are "Summoned" to the Big bad NA$CAR truck.

The only one who can draw a comparrison to Dale Sr imho is Stewart.

It was not I who said any of those things about Dale Sr, all I wrote was RIP, which should be taken as the past is history, and 'now' is what I want to talk about (with regard to comparisons between drivers).
And, as far as the numbers go, none of us did the counting. All we know is what we see in the news. I was simply going by what Dave Despain said (I happen to believe what he sez).
