I have a new Honda CR-V and purchased a Coastline Tow Shield cover before our recent spring trip. During the trip a tab came loose from the side and flapped for two hours before I noticed it. The metal portion of the tab broke through the felt and chipped a 3" square in my left front fender, destroying the paint. These things always happen with less than 2K miles of course.

I have contacted Coastline and have yet to hear what they will do to remedy my situation. I will keep you posted.

Is there anything better that can protect my toad? I removed the cover when I found the damage and immediately received a rock chip in the front painted bumper. Protect a tow will not work since I have a DP with rear exhaust that will burn through the material. I have been looking at the Roadmaster Guardian Rock guard. It is pricey but worth it if it works. Does anyone have real life experience with it or anything else?

Thanks in advance for the help

Sorry to hear about your problem with the Coastline Cover. I have about 3000 miles with mine and it has performed perfectly.

I have heard Coastline is a good company to work with. Hopefully they will come to a mutually satisfactory decision. Please keep us posted as to the outcome.

i had the same thing happen after about 4 uses of the cover. they sent me a couple of the clip things and i sewed them on myself and didn't worry about the little bit of paint being scuffed off.
