That is what was so weird about it- they had to make some sort of judgment on whether we were "living" there or vacationing. All I got from them was their sole criteria was staying in California for more than two weeks. Case closed.

No one lives at the home in California- it is a Lake Tahoe vacation cabin and the vehicle had Nevada plates. Should have gotten a lawyer I guess, but the few times I have had one of those it has been less than satisfying also ;-)

Just a weird tale- doesn't have anything to do with anything.

Anyway, don't want to give it more attention than it deserves here, nice discussing it with you and see you down the road!

We do have a 55 mph limit but going with traffic speed sometimes is safer. I have never received a ticket for going with traffic at 65 and I don't know anyone that has. I usually set the cruise at 62 and relax when I get out on th open highways.

Hope you enjoy Cal. There are many great spots.

We just got back from a trip to Palm Springs from Bellingham, Washington, on I-5 all the way. Due to gas prices, we took our 05 Roadtrek motorhome and left our TT at home. Since the Roadtrek is essentially a 3/4 ton Chevy Van we could travel at the maximum speed limit. Once thru Oregon, which keeps you at the ridiculous speed of 65 on interstates, we looked forward to speeding up to 70. However, in order to not get run over we had to set the cruise at 79 mph. Going 70 meant holding up traffic in the left lane and I wasn't going to get in a convoy with the semi's which go closer to 65 than 55. When we got close to cities the speed limit dropped to 65 which we tried, once. Speed limit signs seem to mean nothing so just gave up and went with the flow which was way over 65 thru cities. since I've never had any kind of ticket or accident in 44 years of driving, I like to drive close to the speed limit, but couldn't do it in CA. Never saw an RV being pulled over by CHP. (Speed limits are actually an extra tax on all of us, Reasonable and Prudent like Montana used to have is all that's necessary, except in school zones).
