Well, just because you do some good things doesn't make up for the stupid things you do. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson probably do some things right too but the world would be a better place without them, same with the ACLU.

Like I do with PETA, Greenpeace, WWF etc. I certainly support many of the things the Sierra Club has done over the years while on the other hand think some of their reasoning and/or agendas are absolutely ludicrous to say the least … but here’s the real head-scratcher … the ACLU? The organization that exists solely to protect our individual constitutional rights? Huh? It’s the ACLU that is protecting US from large organizations like the Sierra Club, political and religious factions etc. I can only imagine the mess we would live in here without them and I guarantee organizations like the Sierra Club would be the very least of our worries.

Looking for any information available on Del Rey "Sky Lounge" and Kamp King slide-ins for preservation/restoration projects.

Well I was thinking about getting involved because I love to go off roading so if I start recruiting maybe we can get this club turned around.

There is that old saying that still holds considerable merit today … ”keep your friends close and your enemies closer"

the club has been good at stopping commercial interests and special interests groups from destroying/developing certain public areas. We can thank those D's for their part and no thanks to those that would use it to fatten their good buddies fat pockets. As a off roader/hunter/fisherman I see where the club is needed to protect a certain area from a few who would turn it to their personnel gain either just playing or commercial development.

Dirtclods......no offense to you----far too much to get into here, but you're dreaming if you think you can turn that outfit into even a "live and let live" group.

the Sierra Club has one agenda only...and that is to close ALL govt land, and some private land as well to the public for ANYTHING

look what they just did to Tejon ranch...the ink wasnt even dry on the first deal, and now they are screaming environmental impact studys, and want to see development plans....after they just got 240,000 acres for "conservation"

there is no middle ground for them

and while a few have chimed in with stopping development as a beacon of good this group has done....imo....it is FAR outweighed by the land grabs and off road riding closures/attempted closures......

Ahhh, the American Criminal Liberties Union, the people that have not so much to do with protecting your liberties as they do protecting criminals and liberal agendas.... but I digress.

Folks, I don't care who you are, but you should check out Delaware North. This is a privately owned megacompany. Klinton stole private lands, they demoed wonderully historic campgrounds, and let these guys use our public lands for entertaining the rich "eco tourist" in abominations like this $300 per night!? Your average family will NOT be enjoying tens of thousands of acres in their camper anymore.

Do a little web surfing on your favorite national park and see who indeed is getting to use it, who profits from it, and who very well may virtually OWN it. It certainly isn't you and I folks.

The ACLU does not exist to solely protect individual rights. They pick and choose which rights and for whom they want to defend. They have never stood up for the Second Amendment. Last I checked that is still a right under the Bill of Rights. In fact they have come out publicly as being AGAINST the 2'nd.
Far as for me, ALL of the rights have equal weight. Since ACLU seems to think some are more important than others they are a joke to me and a lot of others.
