Three Grand? Isn't that a little bit excessive for what looks to be a glorified tow dolly?
What are they doing with that thing that makes it cost that much money?

It is way overpriced. I have one. I bought the last 2,500 lb. version for $1,500 about two years ago.
It works very well. I will never tow my trailer without one ever again. Even at three grand. If you can buy a smaller used E-450 for $20,000 and use a Trailer Toad opposed to something much larger and bigger for $60,000, the three grand is worth it.
That is exactly what I did. I needed to tow 8,000 lbs. but did not want to buy a new rig. The Trailer Toad worked very nicely and I will continue to use it with whatever new coach we end up buying.
Good Luck.

Get a local welding shop or hitch place to build one for you. I have seen ones that guys made or had made that look just as nice and work just as well for under $1K. $3,000 is just plain crazy for that. I believe the company was recently sold and the new owners must be trying to get ROI with very low volume but very high profit per unit.
