Just wondering if anyone carries a water cooler when they travel. We have always owned one for the house. I am talking the large stand alone ones that hold 5 gallon bottle.... I have heard people take ice makers but never heard if anyone had the water cooler. I have no idea where we would put it or how much power it would use. Perhaps someone out there knows about these things. Could it be put outside under the awning? Just a thought. It sure would save on buying water.......

If you figure this one out, let me know.
That was one of the things I really hated to give up.
The closest fall back was those 2 (or were they 2.5?) gallon jugs with a spigot that lay on their side that you buy at the grocery store.

Instead of getting a 5 gal water cooler, why not just buy some good outside water filters and separate inside water filter.. Takes up less room and water is just as good as bottled water..
We never had to buy bottled water using them wherever we traveled...

We have to agree with the filter suggestion. We use a whole house filter purchased from one of the big box hardware stores. A 2 pack of filters is less than $10 at WalMart.

We bought a reverse osmosis system and installed it in the kitchen. All beverages and ice cubes are made with it and we keep a water jug in the refrigerator. It works extremely well, we always have good water.

Hey Dave...
If I may ask... what filter system did you buy?

We always had water delivered because we had a well. Then we moved to the RV and went cheap and bought a Brita pitcher. The first one lasted 3 years old until the top broke. Our new improved one at Sam's Club was only $24.74. Plus it came with 2- 32 oz jars to keep in the fridge that don't take up much space.

We love our water dispenser. It dispenses room temperature water, cold water and with the push of a button, in less than a minute, dispenses boiling hot water. Great for tea etc.
Just sit it on the floor when travelling. We usually get the 5 gallon bottles as they are easier to carry, but have used the larger bottles many times. Never had a spill!
We also have a water filter outside at the source. We found it filters out the smell some campground water has as well as impurities.
