It is well documented here that Honda does not approve towing post-2004 Odysseys, yet I have seen two of them being towed and have heard of others. Is there anyone here who is actually towing a late model Odyssey? If so can you please tell us your total miles towed and status regarding problems or lack thereof?

I just purchased a 2008 EX-L and will be towing it later this summer after I have the brackets installed. My owners manual lists the standard Honda towing procedure. I'll be towing the Odyssey to FL in the Fall. I'll be towing my Civic for a few summer trips not far from home.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. If towing is not permitted, why do they list a procedure in the manual? Can you post the exact wording here that appears in your manual?
I know of two that were towed (operative is "were") one had a transmission failure at 18,000 miles the other went 25,000 before the trans failed. We only owed ours about 300 miles before Honda told us NOT to tow it four down. Contact me via PM for the details.

What year Civic? Nothing but the CR-V and now the Fit are approved for towing four down by Honda and their attorneys, this started in 2005.
