So then you are saying Chevy is better? What tranny is in the Ford...is it the torqueshift?

Both chassis are good. Workhorse has an edge with their Allison 6 speed trans but the Ford has come a long way to close in. I drove both in the past few months and I actually preffered the Ford. It seemed quieter to me in two identical units. You can have a Ford vs Workhorse debate all night but you have to be the one to decide for yourself. Good Luck in whatever you decide.

I am very happy with my combination. The fit & finish on the MH is better than my home and I have the 5 speed on my WH chassis. They now use the 6 speed. Tge Allison Transmission would be the big reason for WH.

Tiffin is going to the Ford Chassis for their largest Allegro Bays (gas version) in 2009. Don't know why but there does not seem to be a great deal of enthusiasm for the move among Tiffin gasser owners. The Ford set up in the 2008 Allegro uses the 5-speed Torq-Shift tranny.

We have the Workhorse chassis on our Allegro Bay and are very happy with it so far. Do not know whether it is "better" than a Ford ... have no experience with a Ford.

To each his own...

I'd say Southwind or Adventurer.

Either Ford or WH just double check the CCC weight capacity.

Perhaps your motorcycle could pull the gasser instead of the other way around?
