Hey Tom,

Which Stonyford camp area is that?

I am out of Pleasanton and have yet to make the trek up that way, what is the road in to the staging/camp area like?

Thanks,

Len

That's at Davis Flat. Not much of a campground, really. More like a big dirt lot staging area. Here's a picture my buddy took of the road into Davis Flat:

Not someplace where you want to be setting land speed records, but a perfectly decent road if you take it easy. Unfortunately, my last trip there (December 2007) ended up like this:

(That's me they're loading in the chopper)so I haven't been back since. But I'm pretty much healed up now and I'll be ready to head back after some rain falls. Maybe we can hook up and Caravan?

No, I crashed my dirt bike, but I don't remember anything about the crash, the helicopter ride, or that whole day. I took a pretty good hit to the head, among other things. Luckily, I was there with a bunch of friends and one of them was able to drive my MH home (about 3 hours) after my wife came to pick me up at the hospital.
