I spoke to my DW about the soft soap. She read online at an RV tips and tricks site about the not using regular soft soap because it's thick and it'll coat the side of the gray water tank. Also if your boondocking the foaming soft soap needs less water because it comes out in a lather. I don't know how true it is about coating the tank but I like the foaming soft soap better anyway. I guess this is one more topic to debate. Have fun with it. And thanks again everyone.
I keep a box of baby wipes in the kitchen for wiping the counter top,sink, table and fingerprints from wherever. When things are baby wiped right away they seldom need more cleaning.
I asked similar questions. I saw a recommendation to spray with "Fresh Shower" after showering, and my manuals that came with my trailer recommended mild cleaners like fantastic, or "barkeepers friend". My toilet is a porcelin(sp?) toilet so I can use the same cleaner for home (lysol tb cleaner). I bought a softer brush for cleaning tho, its smaller too, its for cleaning dishes (another RVnet recommendation).
For all you "green" campers, I've been told that wipes (cleaning, baby, etc.) take years to break down in the garbage dump, like plastics.... don't know if this is myth tho.

Did she say soft soap or soft scrub? There is a difference. Soft scrub for all the plastic surfaces seems to work very well for us. As far as other I like Dawn dish soap the best. It will get all sorts of stuff off your hands as well. And because of it's grease fighting abilities it is recommended for the holding tanks too.
Baby wipes don't take any longer to break down in a garbage dump than anything similar in the garbage bags...at least Pampers Baby wipes are just a high cotton content moist wipe...some of the wipes actually have waxes in the fibers to hold the moisture, but they all break down, eventually.
That being said, I still use a paper towel to wipe spills on the counter, table or floor, then use a cleaner such as Fantastik, Simple Green or Formula 409 (cuts grease well), to clean later, and on the shower. Lysol on the toilet seat, clean the kitchen sink just before draining the water from washing dishes with Dawn, then rinse. Windex or Vinegar for glass--Glass wax if necessary (Old product, good stuff).

The only cleaners I keep in the 5er is Windex and 409. These two products are capable of cleaning just about anything. I never use anything abrasive like Comet or other cleansers.
I also find that a Mr. Clean Magic eraser does a great job on the tub/shower (they also work well to clean the awning).
I use Dawn foaming dish soap to wash dishes with and always wipe out any pot or pan before washing, especially greasy pans. This keeps a lot of food debris and grease out of the holding tank.
