No! No!.... need more skiing... never too much snow... more! more!...

Just kidding... I love skiing, but am ready for some nicer weather... dragging in snow during winter camping gets old.

All the good 4x4 roads in the San Juans are still snowed in. I do hope you guys in Leadville melt out. I had wanted to run up there over a long weekend and look through the cemetery for an uncle.

The snow melt this season will depend a lot on the exposure of the area you are visiting. Southern exposures are starting to clear. but anything with a northern exposure will keep snow into late summer at best. Some snow pack may stay all summer. Also any areas that traditionally keep snow will probably not milt this summer.

We are getting another 6" to 12" today.

If you're scared by the thought of going down Shafer Trail at Canyonlands or by US550 out of Ouray in your RAV4 (from your previous posts), don't even think of Tincup Pass. Although if you've done Phantom Canyon, I must say Shafer Trail shouldn't be a problem whatsoever.

It is getting nicer by the day, Snow may and will happen. It is dumping out right now...went to the Post Office just now.... accumulating on the ground, but the roads in town are just wet. Not sure what the interstae is like. It is slated to snow into the night. When the temps go down it will become a real driving circus later!

Discounting this storm, temps are getting into the upper 50's during the day. Nights are still dippin' down low... chilly into the low 30's (and lower depending on altitude. We have actually had Spring for a day or two so far. Bring more than just "spring" clothes!
