Last time we drove Phantom Canyon, we met a Mercedes Sedan headed toward Cripple Creek! It's just a decent dirt road, NOTHING like Tin Cup Pass.
I have also driven up to Hancock in the Suzuki Sidekick we had at the time however, and it wasn't toooo bad. Wouldn't try Tin Cup with it however.

I would not recommend taking your Geo Tracker over Tincup. Last year we did it in ATVs. There are lots of bad places and high clearance places on the road. The clearance is the main issue, more so than having 4x4. Did run into a guy in a TC trying to get over. I suspect he ended up sorry he did that. As for the snow, Ihave a second home in Leadville. This year is going to be slow going on the melt off. They had a record year for snow so all of the 4x4 roads will be late opening, such as Hagerman, Mosquito, Weston, etc.
