Its a hazard of Rving. Based on the number of noodles I see, most everyone has had a hard knock sooner or later. Most have to bend over to access their storage compartments,,so I have tried to make it a habit to stand up straight before taking my first step, except under the front cap,,then I dont stand up til I am well clear of the entire trailer, may look funny to some, but it does save a hard knock.

Bright yellow, orange or lime pool noodles work great. Cheap and replace them every couple of seasons. Visible and if that doesn't work, they protect YOUR noodle.

My brother came with me while I was shopping for my fiver and smacked his head on a bedroom slide on the lot, Laid him out picked himself up and we walked to the next unit and he did the same thing at that point he just went and sat in the truck. At least both cuts were on different sides.

It is best to be a midget, but then you could still bump your head on the steps.

This past winter I spent the better part of a day with a friend at the doctors office. Seems he was doing a favor for another friend (check the air in the tires on his motorhome) when he stood up and hit his head. Five stitches later . . . I use the noodles, I can stick them out further than the slide for a little warning. On one slide, right in the middle of the "patio" area (how retarded is that!) I use a full noodle, it sticks out just enough on both sides. Plus there's storage under it so one as to be careful when standing back up. Also our patio chairs set under it so that becomes a real trick once in a while.

I usually wear a ball cap, so I wouldn't see any type of warning device, and don't. Ouch.
