Looking for recommendations on what brand and model of auto-transfer switch to install. Should I get one with the 30 second or so delay-or do they all do that? The Skyline products don't come with one from the factory and I'm tired of plugging and un-plugging everytime I need to use the genny. I already picked up this Bad Boy-PD9280 to get get those batteries charged up quick and better maintained. 80 amps worth of charging for my 4 batteries should do the trick quick. Looks like I'm gonna have a rewiring party here soon. Thanks Uncle Sam.

The time delay for a transfer relay is time for the genset to stabilize voltage output and to warm a little before putting a load on it. Suggest getting one with time delay.
Progressive Dynamics makes a good model PD52V. About $175
The parallax model ATS501 at $235 is another option.

All of them have a delay for transfering from Gen,Shore or Inverter. I'm running 2 transfer switchs with 6 6v GC batterys.
John Drakes a pretty cool old guy, give him a try. You call him and tell him what you need and he'll have that thing to you the next day.

Thanks for the info. Joe, I ordered the Iota ITS 50R from John Drake like you have today. I'll let you know how things turn out once I have my rewiring party. Now the wait for that Brown truck to arrive!

Whats the reason for 2 trans switches? We have 1 iota and it works fine.
