I just bought a 2008 Jayco Jay Feather 213. Very nice! But, I'm worried how the awning will react in rain. There is no way to tip it to one side for run off. Does anyone have one of these and have any experience or suggestions?

I wasn't aware that Jayco made an electric awning. Check the brand and you'll probably find it's an aftermarket and knowing the brand would help in answering. All of the electrics I've seen CAN be compensated manually but you'd need to disable the automatic deploy feature.

I have a jayco 32bhds it has a electric awning made by carefree. It will dump rain automatically if needed. Mine has enough slope that it should not hold water.

Don't worry about the awning. There are 2 gas shocks on the unit. One in each arm. When and if there is rain the awning and it gets heavy it will pull the unit and drain to one side.

I was wondering the same on my new keystone sprinter. I'm not even sure what kind of awning it is, but I was told there is a gas shock that will dump the water. I was wondering also if there is a wind sensor on mine. I guess that would pretty much eliminate awning lights if it does. Seems stupid I know little about the awning, but my first thought when I seen it was electric was that I could now make my wife get out of bed at 3 in the morning to roll it up when it's storming. I didn't think of anything else.

Most of the new Jayco trailers come with the Carefree Electric Awning. It will dump water to one side when the weight of water overcomes the gas shock. Unless you have a very expensive electric awning you will not have a wind sensor on your Jayco Awning. My awning has 2 gas shocks and will dump water to either side.
