My wife and I just bought a new Class C and we are very excited to use it! We also have a 14 month old baby. Does anybody have any advice on where to put the baby to sleep? We don't have slide so a crib in the hall isn't an option. Our current plan is to let the baby sleep on the rear queen while wifey and I sleep on the cabover bed, we just haven't figured a good way to keep baby in the bed.

I'd also be curious to hear if anybody has any thoughts on having the baby ride in a car seat on the couch (sideways) or any other baby travel tips.

Thanks for any tips.

How about this ... Make the dinette info a bed. Most have tables that drop down and put the cushions down as a mattress. Then you could possibly rig up something between the two seats to make a "wall" to keep the baby in the bed.

Hi and congrats on the new C. We traveled all over the U.S. with four kids, two being in car seats, and yes we put the two car seats on the couch. The boys loved it, they could see out the window and have their toys next the them in a basket (which ended up on the floor)As for sleeping we once camped next to people with 7 month old twins and they hung a pack and play from the ceiling over the dinette with the other pack and play hanging over the couch, but we just put the boys on the couch one facing one way and the other facing the other way with a bed rail to keep them in. When they got a bit older we put one on the couch and our driver/passenger seats swivled facing each other and we made a comfy bed for the other one. The problems emerged when they got big and ornery and didn't like sleeping in a tent. Now we sneak away and don't tell them we're going RVing.

Camper Ken's suggestion is what we do with our grand daughter.

It depends so much on your specific floorplan. We were able to set up a Pack N Play in the kitchen, and still have over a foot of space to squeeze past it. You could probably set up the Pack N Play on the Dinette bed, also, especially if there's no easy way to wall it off or if you already have a pack n play.

When we got our first C it did not have slide, what we did was setup the pack n play it the front next to the sofa it worked well. Now that we have a slide and my DD is almost 3 she sleeps in dinette I setup a bed rail that works perfectly. As for the car seat we dropped the dinette and strapped it to the beach seat with the seat belt.

The best tip I can offer is relax and enjoy every minute with your family

We use two different approaches.

One is the dinette like mentioned above and we use a side rail from the baby store. It also works on the sofa. Bed Rail

Second is a portable crib. This one is not as wide or long as a pack and play and works great, we can even walk around it, but we are in an A. It also folds up nicely and fits behind our bed during travel.
Portable Crib.

We do travel with children, 3 are car seat or booster seat age, all in their car seats sideways on the sofa. Our sofa is a fold out bed type and not a jack knife type, so I remove the cushions, just makes for a firmer area. Seems that when we were shopping for our motor home, someone said that the seatbelt laws do not apply to passengers in the motor home. But we require everyone riding to use one. We are fortunate that our MH has 10 seat belts.

All of our kids love camping, just today the 2 year old wanted to go get in the motor home and go camping.

Memories that you are making, Priceless.

another vote for the bedrail on the dinette. Easy to store, and worked well for both our kids.

We've since renovated our motorhome by taking out the rear double bed and putting in bunk beds for the kids.

For a while we took out the barrel chair next to our door and put a playpen there. It worked ok, but the bedrail was easier.

Cheers

We use a bed rail that you would as your child moves from a crib to actual bed.
