Humm. .. Remember the song: Yes We Have NO Bananas.

Yes we have no fried chicken
We have no fried chicken today
We have coleslaw and taters, and even tomatoes
but we have no fried chicken today

Yes we have no fried chicken
We have no fried chicken today

Had it happen here on the East Coast - no chicken!
Something about planning ahead I guess.

We had a good laugh when I got home without the chicken - went to another KFC in the next town, no problem.

Last week my daughter and I were running errands and I decided to pick up some take-out instead of cooking when I got home.......Pretty simple plan, right?

WRONG!....We parked, walked into the establishment and were surprised there was no line of people waiting to be served.

We stood by the railing, looking at the menu while the NICE young lady behind the counter waited to take our order...Once we decide on what we wanted we stepped up to the counter.......

I said, "I'll have the breast and wings with cole slaw and mashed potatoes/gravy, my daughter will have the leg only with a side of mac/cheese......

She then said, "We ain't got no chicken".....I said, "Well how long will it take to cook more?" She said, "We ain't got none to cook!"

Laughing, I started looking around, thinking I was in the wrong place, but sure enough, Colonel Sanders' face was ALL over the place!

I even said, "Isn't this KFC?"...She said, "Yes, but we aint got no chicken. We got everything else. We just ain't got no chicken"

I asked her how she could say that with such a straight face.......She said, "cuz I don't think it's funny ma'am"........I was ROTFLMAO!!

I was laughing so hard that my daughter was embarrassed.......A plus imo.......

Well you must have been in Clear Lake or Ukiah cause Nice..as nice as it is...doesn't have a KFC. The DW and I lived in Ukiah for 25+ years and my DW was the head Pharmacy tech at Longs drugs in Ukiah for 13 years. My parents live in Cobb.lol Sister lives Upper Lake.lol I know the entire area really well. Going to haul the 5er to Ukiah this weekend as a matter of fact. Where abouts in Nice are you? Seems to be a corporate philosophy. I had almost this same experience in another of the Colonel's establishments. The only difference was that the afternoon cook had quit and the evening cook wasn't in yet. The nice lady at the counter told me that they would not have any chicken until the cook came in to cook it. Demand to see the manager you say??? The biggest problem with doing that was that it was the manager I was talking to at the register. Apparently she wasn't in class the day they taught restaurant management during the Colonel's training program.

We won't eat at them or get take-out. We're not strange when it comes to cleanliness, germs and such, but KFC is not on our menu. They are all "really gross" here and wish management would get better because they do have good chicken.

Have not been "Kentucky Fried" for a long time either

As it happens I have had the honor of eating some of the last Genuine Kentucky Fried Chicken in the world.

Here is the story... In Belleville Michigan There used to be a Kentucky Fried Chicken. Back when the Coronal ran the business Mr. HOOT (the franchise owner) collected plaques for his wall.. Dozens of them proclaiming his the best Kentucky Fried Chicken in the business.

Then Mr. Sanders (Who by the way was never in the military, his Coronal"Rank" was honorary he was what is called a Kentucky Coronal) sold the business the new owners figured out they could improve proits if they made a few "little changes" The 11 herbs and spices for example became 10,9,8.7.6.5.4.3. salt and pepper. This was just one of the "little changes" Per a federal court judge the result was chicken that is not nearly as good (I happen to agree with his honor)

The court hearing came about because KFC ordered Mr. Hoot to change or give up the franchise.. Mr. Hoot refused to change so they took down the signs and he changed the name to "Hoot's Chicken Coop"

Had lunch there back about 1985, He closed shortly after

But it is no longer Kentucky Fried chicken because, Between our two stories, it's no longer Kentucky Fried, or Chicken. When they say: "Original Recipe" it is false advertising, Very false advertising

As for The Coronal.. I suspect that's he's known now days as "Pinwheel Harlin"

The old joke goes like this:

Woman dies and goes to heaven. She inquires about her husband, Charles, who pre-deceased her. St. Peter says we have a lot of folks here named Charles, Can you give us something more to go on?

She says: Well... He told me that if I ever looked at another man he'd turn over in his grave.

St. Peter says: "Oh, you mean Pinwheel Charlie"

KFC no nonger has chicken anywhere.

It is no loger chicken any more.... they are so genetically modifed that it is not "chicken." They are born with no feet and no beaks! It cannot be called a "chicken" anymore.

It is why it is called "KFC" now when it used to be "Kentucky Fried Chicken."

urban legend

KFC chicken is supplied by Tyson Foods. As is, Long John Silver's, Church's and McDonalds among several others I could list. The CFO of Tyson foods is a close personal friend of mine as well as a member of our church. Between that and the fact I live within 1 mile of at least 50 poultry houses that grow for Tyson and all the chickens I have seen in those houses have both beaks and feet I'll take his word for where KFC chicken comes from.
