Just outside getting the trailer ready for the first trip of the season, when I decided to fool around with the TV/DVD player. (ZX600 Concertone series) I am very frustrated with this unit and will probably be looking for something else once I can get the money to install. Anyway, there is massive interference coming from the surround sound system in this trailer. I just had my dealer install a new Concertone system into my trailer as it was still under warranty and the unit was not playing CD's. Is it possible that the technician at the dealer did something with the sound as he was installing? The interference is bad enough that it leaves the tv screen a little wobbly (slight), yet when I turn off the surround sound and use the tv's sound, picture quality looks fine. This is frustrating as I do not want to take our HTT back to the dealer, but we are going on our first outing of the year this Friday. Anyone know how to remove the Concertone from the wall? Maybe I can look to see how the wires are wired myself. Thanks for any input.

Concertone is to electronics what the Yugo was to cars. Cheap, poorly made, but cheap, and bottom of the rung quality, (and did I say cheap?)! It will never perform on the level as name branded such as Sony, Panasonic, Samsung even Phillips and RCA! It is a unsubstantiated rumor that Forest River RV Corporation owns the Concertone Company! Maybe it does, that would explaine a lot! I think they have a 6 month warranty. And need every day of that!
To remove the Concertone, there are two "indents" on the bottom of the snap-on bezzel plate. You should be able to see them by looking along the lower edge. Simply insert a small screwdriver or putty knife in the indent, and then work your way around the ring, popping it off.
Once off, my Concertone was held in by four corner screws. Unscrew them, and out it comes. If you REALLY want to appreciate the pride in workmanship and quality that the Concertone / Forest River folks have in thier work, take a good look at the RAT'S NEST of wiring behind the Concertone! What a MESS!
My new Concertone seems to still be working OK. I went in there, so that I could disconnect and remove the XM radio cradle that came with my Rockwood, and replace it with a Sirius cradle. What good is a Sat Radio that doesn't receive NA$CAR races?

Thanks Fire Instructor! I'll have to take a look this evening. I'm hoping it's just a case of some wires interfering with others and that I can separate them.
I doubt that Forest River owns Concertone, but on the other hand, they probably got a really good price on several containers of them right off the boat.
The brand has been around for years.
Since it is a 110v unit?? there are many, many great replacement units available, but they will require some modification in the cabinte and mounting. There is also a Jensen unit available that looks like a direct replacement.
When it dies, file the Concertone in the circular file.. With the low price of electronics these days, It is not worth the aggrivation to replace it with another Concertone.
Well, removed the Concertone from the wall mount, and sure enough, did fine a RAT's mess back there. I tried unhooking and re-hooking numerous things back there with no success. I guess I'll talk to my dealer tomorrow and see if he knows what to do.
Dixonmatco, I will look into another unit in the future, but this system was still under warranty when the dealer just installed. Once it is out of warranty and there is trouble with the machine, then I will look for something different.
They are not 110v units. I ended up having to run a 110v romex cable up to the cabinet cuz I mounted my Screen just below the cabinet. Concertones are basically just a large frame car stereo. Each model has some different features. For example DVD in the new ones.
When mine pukes out, I will just replace it with a car stereo unit that plays DVDs
