There are a host of DVD car stereos out there nowadays that you can replace it with. There was a nice Jensen I was playing with at Pep Boys the other day that was only about $299 or so. It had a touchscreen for setting most of the functions in it, and was really easy to use!

How much cabin lighting is on when using the unit? We notice increased interference when we have several lights (or just the dining table light) on as this causes the inverter cooling fan to run. The inverter cooling fan running seems to cause interference.
Go to a Radio Shack or someplace similar and you might be able to find noise filters that you may be able to install in the back of the unit.
Good luck.

It happens when there is a few lights on and when absolutely nothing else is running. We just got back from a successful first outing of the season. The kids watched about 30 minutes to an hour each night and they didn't seem to be bothered by the interference. I'll still ask my dealer about it as I could not figure anything out myself.
Thanks for the suggestions though.

The plastic trim around the concert-junk pops off and there are screws behind there, I have the same model and the DVD player doesnt work. If this this is 200 watts then my car stereo is a million. I took mine out to see if they hooked it up right, it was however the fuse cover had fallen off during instalation so there were bare connector ends there, maybe want want it to burn?

Most TT manufacturers use good quality appliances and equipment during the manufacturing process. I'm truly amazed they can sell a TT at a relatively low price when compared to the sum of the individual parts that make up the whole. If you don't believe this, just price out the individual pieces and parts from your favorite RV catalog sometime. What is freightening is the cost of replacing the parts when they DO wear out. On the subject of Concertone, I can only say I wish the manufacturer (Forest River) had made a better decision and chose a better quality audio system or just left it out altogether. Oh well, when you consider the sum of the total parts, the Concertone was a freebie.

Have you ever recieved a free printer with the purchase of a computer? The price of the printer is not included, the mfg is just giving them away because of the profit they make on the ink cartriges. It is not a new thing. Concertone, probably nearly gives away the radio to the mfg, but they charge 1 arm + 2 legs for it when you need a replacement, likely similar with other appliances too. Capitalism at its best.

I have a 2008 Forest River (Surveyor) 5th Wheel camper that came with the ConcertOne ZX600. It hasn't gotten much use yet, but so far I haven't seen any of the major problems reported here. We're about to embark on a 2 month trip out west, so I'm bracing myself for a host of problems with the entertainment system.
I decided to upgrade the TV in the living room to a larger unit, which required that I relocate all of the audio/video connections down below since the new TV fills up the entire cavity. Thanks for the advice on how to get the ConvertOne out... I would have probably broken something without the advice I found here!
I had noticed the the subwoofer was not working on my camper, so while I had the ConcertOne out, I doubled checked all the wiring. Sure enough, the subwoofer was wired incorrectly.
I like my camper overall, but I have noticed several things that leads me to believe that they're using unskilled or untrained workers at the factory.
I guess the motto of this story is, "don't assume that everything is correct just because it's new".

Our 2008 HTT came with a Concertone with AM/FM, CD player and a tape deck. Yes a tape deck (I did say 2008!). That should tell you something about what they are thinking in terms of current trends and technology. When looking at our HTT, I commented about the tape deck and lack of an external aux jack thinking to myself that maybe the dealer had switched the radio for one from 1995. The sales person said that he had tons of Boxcar Willie tapes and that he thought the tape player was nice. How funny is that!
