Dodge vans, prior to the Sprinter, were not wide. I have a 96 that measures 66" across the back interior. I'm quite confident that Dodge used that same basic body back in to the 70's. Those twins must be more narrow than they look.

The map shows the states my wife and I have driven (or camped) in together.

If that is a Dodge then the bed and dinette in that photo are only about 26 inches wide. I will have to take another look at that photo.

Interesting thread, thanks Susan. I sold my Class C Jayco last fall, now want to go to something with less tossing in the wind so am looking at the Class Bs...wow, there is a huge range in price for new from $136,000 MLP down to half of that (Internet).

I have always thought the PW and RT did not have enough clearance for me if I want to drive into a FS campground, which I love. I want the gas engine, not diesel, and head room inside as I am tall. I see the Great West is wider. And I want power for those mountain roads but better MPG than the 10mpg I got with my Jayco (V10). Which model has the longest bed? And how about buying a 2007 (new)instead of a 2008 or 9?

I should mention I traveled extensively (all of Canada and Alaska, etc.)in my Chrysler mini van with the seats out before I bought the Jayco. I loved being a minimalist but now I have the two fluffsters and need AC and more space. I loved the space in the Jayco with the slide out but too much trouble and too big and too many things on the checklist...it was more like being at work than on vacation. I hope a B will offer the simplicity I need without worrying about traveling across North Dakota in 50 mph winds.

Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks, Judy

I don't know what to say Judy....I can't even find a B to get into. I do agree with the minimazing thing though...seems freer to me...but everything is a trade off.

Why Full-Timing? Because at my age, I have maybe 40 more chances to see flowers bloom.
