I had one on my last TT and liked it but unless we were staying for a week or more I would not bother to put it up.
After we got the new TT I bought an EZ up canopy with full side curtains and screen curtains at Wally World for about $159 which is about a third of what an awing screen room costs and you can use it for other things beside camping

We have the Carefree LTD and absolutely love it, it takes about 15 min. to put up.
We don't have to worry about bugs.
When it's raining I just drop the panels and nothing gets wet.
Our dogs love to lay outside without really being outside.
It's like having your own Florida room.
It's acceptable at all RV parks, some places clearly state no screen rooms except ones attached to RV's.
I can sit outside at night and read or just enjoy where I am and not get eaten alive.
When this one wears out, I'll get another.

We have one and love it. It takes us about 20 minutes to put it up and probably 30 minutes to take down. Besides keeping bugs out it creates additional dry space when the rains come.

We have one that we used with our 24 foot motorhome and now use with a 24ft 5th wheel. Both campers are 1985 models with no slide so it give us alot more room. It gets easier to put up and down the more you practice.
It helps with cold wind, rain and bugs...
Just make sure you get the tie downs to anchor your awning so if a big storm comes up it will hold. We saw one at the beach by the bay that did fine during ALOT of wind. I chickened out and took ours down but we would have been fine if we'd tied it down.

We have the add-a-room screen room. We love it...once it is set up of course. For short trips, it isn't worth the effort. Also, we lost a canopy once because the screen room was set up, we had an unexpected heavy rain storm and the canopy, screen room and all collapsed. It is harder to lower your canopy to allow for rain to flow off it with all that attached to your canopy.
I would never buy another screen room unless it was separate from the trailer.

I just bought a pop-up stand alone screen room last week. ($39!) It is only 8' square, but there is only 3 of us and the dog. I understand that it will be really easy to set-up, but harder to get it back into its carry bag.lol right now, it is very flat and compact, but haven't had it out of the bag yet.

I like to be outside in the summer, DD won't eat outside if there are bugs. We'll be able to use it independently from the camper as a plus as others have mentioned.

I made an attachable screen room out of Gazebo screen netting & Velcro for our pop-up that worked pretty good, we only used it when camping for more than 2 nights in buggy areas.

My question on the attachable screen rooms for TT's is how do you get them attached around the top edge? Our popup was easy, we rolled out the awning and attached the screen room before raising the roof all of the way, or could attach the screen room w/a step stool, but our camper awning is too high to reach at the camper edge, even w/a foot stool.

I remember growing up in Michigan and the mosquitos that came out by the millions at dusk. A screened in porch was common on houses. If I was camping in a place that had that same situation, I would definately want one and use it.

Here on the west coast, where we are, with much lower humidity, we do not have the same level of bug problem that some of the midwestern states have. I don't think I have ever seen anyone use one of those screen rooms here.

It would have been handy the last time we were at Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone.

I have always heard they are a pain to set up. We us a stand alone screen room and love it. Has a domed top & we can set up & lift it to the best location. Great for relaxing & containing our 2 dogs.

Our friends we camp with frequently have one that came with their TT. A bit of a pain to put up, but they like it. I do not have one and dont want to spend $500 on one. We have a stand alone unit we bought at Dicks for like $150 that we can use if we want but I cant remember ever using it camping. We used to have one on our very 1st (used) popup that was still in the box. We did use it then as we had 3 very little kids in a 10' camper. It took some time to set up but we always used it as we kept strollers, pack n plays, ports potty etc in there. It was like a second room for us.

I bought one last year and I love it when we are camped for 3+ days. I have 2 dogs and it helps keep them inside the room. Also it is great when we go to dog shows and camp on site during mosquito season - makes a huge difference.
It is tricky to install - ours came without a thick enough plastic slide to attach to the awning and it slipped out. I had my hubby slide wire through it and it works fine now. It is bulkier to carry than I expected but it is sturdy. I can install it on my own though so it's not too bad.

I don't feel claustrophobic in it and it is great if it rains and you put the sides down - nice and cozy and extends the living area. I've done the EZ-UP thing and this is way better for our needs.
