You need to consider height, as well as length, I would think. While our 5er is only 33'6" long, we ARE high profile at 13'6". Most folks consider ours a "big rig."

When we first picked it up, it was inside a building at the dealer, and Greg and I just stood there staring at it, wondering about the monstrosity we had just bought! LOL Now, of course, we're used to it so it doesn't seem quite so big.

Tatest, this statement confuses the heck out of me:

A 40-45 motorcoach is not a big rig by itself (a good driver can turn one around on a 30' wide road),

HUH???

If you mean what you are implying here, it is physically impossible to turn around a vehicle that is longer than the road is wide unless you are backing into an intersecting road or parking lot to do so. Anybody that can't do that, I suggest you shouldn't be driving a 40' rig at all, because eventually, no matter how careful you are, you are going to get in a situation that will require it.

They all feel like big rigs at first but tend to get smaller the longer you own them and the more you use them. Some of the CG's I've stayed at consider anything over 30' a big rig and others 40'. With those numbers you can see it's open to debate what actually constitutes a "big rig".

You have a 10-12 foot over hang in the rear & 5 foot over hang in the front
No reason you can't turn a 45F one around on a 30 foot road.
