Figure out how far you wish to travel in a day, then pick out a town close to that destination. Then google "rv park campground cityname, state"
For example. Lakota, ND is about 300 miles from Superior. In the google search box type:
rv park campground lakota, nd
You will find several references for campgrounds in that area.

We took that route last summer and enjoyed it very much. It would appear that you define reasonable (in terms of price) as something akin to free. Though we enjoyed all the parks we stayed at, I didn't classify any of them in terms of free or nearly so and therefore I can't help you. You might check for Wally Worlds along your way.
Enjoy your trip though and I hope you find it as enjoyable as we did. If you have enough time, continue the trek on US2 all the way to the west coast. Equally enjoyable.
Williston, ND. American Legion Park south on Rt 85,left after crossing Missouri River. About 3 miles out of town. Water available and 20 amp service, free. Looks like it was a farm at one time, great, quiet, as much room as you want, and you will probably be the only rig there. We were.
We did Hwy 2 last summer. From Washington to Bar Harbor Maine. Great trip, great people, We stayed in private campgrounds and state campgrounds and loved every minute. We did see some county parks and city parks campgrounds, but they were few and far between.
