Ok you guys with all the logic, if it is supply and demand that drives the price up then how can they sell fuel at less than half price just ten minutes from a huge city like El Paso, okay granted it is not Ultra low 15 ppm but it is 200 ppm. I talked with a guy who lives next to a worker who works at the Chevron refinery in El Paso and he says it is the same fuel just not quite as refined but shipped over the border and not here in States. So why are we paying $4.39 here again????? If I had a 06 or older diesel instead of my 07 with the new emissions I would be hauling it back in drums!!!!

And why wouldn't it be cheaper, we sold them a refinery, (which we don't have enough of), we ship them tankers full of oil from Alaska, & other US ports.
Think the oil companies are trying to cut each others throats, not likely.

Ever hear of a Conspiracy?

Need to be careful the mexican diesel is not LSD or ULSD and can damage our newer vehicles.

Plain and simple....Taxes and refined quality. Diesel is taxed more heavily.

The Mexican oil industry, Pemex, is government owned and since they are oil exporters and not importers of crude, they can sell it for whatever they want. They also control the prices of several food products to keep it low priced in Mexico. You can bet the export price of Mexican crude is tied to the world market and that is what we pay them for their oil.

Right. I just have 1 question: Since their oil industry, Pemex, is govt owned and controlled, WHERE are THEIR SHORTAGES????
Anytime we discuss govt intervention, we are always given scare tactics of predicted SHORTAGES. Well, where is Mexico's shortage since their prices are govt controlled? Anybody ever consider that our conservation is going to be consumed up by consumers in other countries where their prices are controlled by big bro?
