Yes, we tow a KZ 2605, with our Titan. We're about 6500 #'s loaded, use D, rarely use tow/haul, use cruise control 80 - 90% of the time set at 65 MPH, the bulk our towing mileage has been on interstates in the SE US, and MPG runs between 9 - 12.

Since '04, we have towed something over 15,000 miles without incident or mechanical problems of any kind. The only mod done to the Titan, was to add a Firestone Air Lift kit, as I sometimes carry a lot of campfire wood.

We used to tow our Rockwood 8318SS with an 05 Titan CC LE. We averaged around 8mpg towing in 4th with tow/haul button on.

I have a Pathfinder, and the Nissan techs told me that I could use overdrive as long as the transmission does not "hunt" up and down. Check your owner's manual -- if it does not say "do not use overdrive for towing," you probably can, at least on the flats at moderate speeds with no headwind on a Thursday.

Sorry, not quite the same...

The Titan is a great tow vehicle. I have one of the first ones made, and bought it specifically to tow our 7,000# Arctic Fox that's shaped like a brick. Everything around here is all wind and mountains.

The Tow Mode for your truck gives you more RPM in lower gears in case you're going slow in mountainous country. It just holds lower gears longer; that's okay because this engine doesn't care about higher RPMs. It just keeps going.

Tow in 4 with that kind of load. Don't tow in D. The truck will pull it great. We get about 10MPG when we stay around 55, less if we go faster - 9MPG at a little over 60, for instance.

We have 70,000 miles of experience with our truck and are sold on it.

Hope this helps.

Do you...

Tow in "D" or "4"?

Use tow/haul switch?

Use cruise control?

What gas milage do you get?

Any help would be appreciated.

camp on!

We tow a 2007 Jayco Jayflight 25RKS with a 2004 Titan 4WD with Big Tow Package. Tow in "D", with tow mode switch on, cruise control off, and so far have gotten an average of 9.5 MPG in mixed terrain, towing about 65 MPH.

love my 05 titan, pulling my 27 ft Sierra loaded I'm at 8000 lbs.(very heavy and tall tt). I don't travel very far so I cant give you mileage, but it seems to have plenty of power. I do run into problems in moderate winds, which I attribute to my less than perfect wd system and the extra height of my trailer.I tow in 4th and always with the tow mode on.(don't know why you would ever not use the tow mode when towing). I do feel that I am at the max limit of the truck without hurting it.i don't use cruise or OD ... hope this helps..
