an onboard air compressor for your airbags? And if so where did you mount the compressor and the gauge/control? Was it hard to install?
I am going to go for the dual control. I have an 04 Dodge Ram 2500, see my signature.

I have a compressor, tank, and in-cab controls (dual switches, single gauge) for my Firestone Ride-Rite air bag system in my '07 Dodge Ram 3500. My compressor is mounted on top of the transverse crossmember that supports the factory transfer case skid plate. The in-cab control module is mounted on the passenger side hanging down below the glove box.


-'07 Dodge 3500/QC/SB/SRW/4x4/6.7L CTD/6-spd auto/35" Toyo M/T's/Ride-Rite air bags/RS9000XL shocks
-'07 Apex 8 fully optioned w/220W solar/2 T-145's/2KW Prosine/Honda EU2000i/Tundra fridge/AC/etc
-'00 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4x4, highly modified w/5.9L Magnum V8

Wow, those were some big words for me! Is that down like below the engine? I also have the ride rites and am going for the dual control single gauge.

I mounted mine right below the emergency brake pedal underneath the truck. It is mounted to the plastic inner fender and has lived there for 3 years with no problems. It is away from the heat of the engine ans it looks to stay pretty dry up there.

i have the 400 series viair onboard air with 2 2.5 gal tanks one on each side under truck mounted with brackets i had made up. i used copper lines not the junk they send you. i have 2 mack air horns hooked up with a quick disconnect so i can use it to air up my tires or use my air tools to change tires if i get a blow out, which ive done. i had a special box made to fit compressor under truck it airs up to 150 lbs only thing visible is air gage in cab with on off switch. get an alumminun box it won't rust. i've had mine since 2002 without a problem. here is their site check it out. www.viaircorp.com. want more info pm me.

I run a 150 PSI 100% duty cycle Extreme Aire Magnum Compressor from Extreme Outback Products in Vacaville with a 4 gal. tank. Runs air bags, air tools and anything else that I need air for. It is mounted on the frame underneath the passenger seat. In my Ford I built the gauges into the dash. I have pictures if needed.

Since you have a Firestone Ride-Rite system, this is a follow-up to my earlier post. I thought some photos might be helpful, so here you go:

Here is a front shot of the in-cab dual control module mounted below the glove box on the passenger side of my '07 Dodge Ram 3500:


And here is a side shot:


Here is a shot of the compressed air tank. It's perhaps a bit hard from the photo to see where this is mounted, but it is just below the front crossmember for the bed and lodged inside the empty space behind the drivers side rear quarterpanel/wheel well area (i.e., in front of the drivers side rear tire/wheel):


And here's a shot of a portion of the compressor. This is hard to see, but it is located in between the front of the fuel tank and the back side of the transfer case. (You can see the red compressed air line coming out of it). Again, this is mounted on top of the transfer case crossmember):

I used the SureSet digital in cab controller on mine. It maintains pressure automatically within 7lbs. of your setting and you only need to run wires into your cab, no air lines. Seems they have replaced this with an even newer wireless system that looks pretty slick - Wireless Controller

Right behind the cab in the fenderwell. Full wheelwell liners keep this area clean and dry.

At ~$350 a pop for either the SureSet or the newer WirelessAIR units, I think I am happy to stay with some air lines coming into the cab.
