I've got a Honda generator ... so it should work out alright.

But man, you should see the analog to digital converter box picture on a Black and White TV ...

I'm almost as much impressed as the first time I saw a TV ... even though it was just a test pattern.

I have a 500 watt invertor running my 19" tv,vcr and surround sound. The invertor was bought at Radio shack for about $60 so I assume it's a msw invertor.Got my digital convertor box at ABC warehouse last week and tied it into the system. It works great with the bat wing antenna.I get about 3 times as many channels, crystal clear pics, and it runs fine off the invertor.

Anybody on here tried to modify a converter to run from 12VDC?

I'm awaiting my coupons so I can go to Wal-Mart and get my converter for the TT. I'm planning to see if I can modify the converter to run on 12VDC. It might require an additional 12VDC to 5VDC converter, but at least it won't need 120VAC.

Has anyone seen a converter that has a provision for DC supply voltage?

Not yet. And I have looked. But my trucker buddy thinks they'll be out there sooner or later. I'll keep checking at the truck stops.

Yeah, a DC converter box would be nice ... would use less than sticking my portable 120 watt inverter into a torpedo plug outlet in the rig or in a "jump it."

I'm a big fan of the portable "jump it" power supplies (the little suitcase things that you can use to jump a car.) The first thing I do is cut off the jump-its battery cables and just use the torpedo plug (cigarette lighter plug) as an auxilliary power supply.

I have a little 75 watt inverter ... which I'm hoping will be enough juice to run the Analog to Digital converter box.

I'm glad others are amazed at the picture quality and number of stations.

I haven't had mine that long ... but I'm finding that in many places, I don't even have to raise the antenna ... to get more stations that I ever go before.

If your RV (and tv) is a couple of years old, you will need this converter box ... or upgrade your TV or you will be out of business in Feb 2009 ... so plan ahead. Even the earlier flat screens are not capable of receiving a digital signal

Not totally accurate.

If you are using a satellite receiver in your RV or home or cable at home, you will NOT need to convert because the satellite receiver and cable boxes already process a digital signal. In this case, your TV set is only acting as a monitor and the non-digital TV's will act as a monitor as well and you won't need to up=grade.

OnLY those using a roof antenna on a RV or at home and using an anolog TV will need the convertor.

Again, those using satellite or cable need to do nothing at all.

I put a link in the technology forum, their are a few that use external power supplies, 12v, 6v, and 5v.

I'm sorry, I thought I made that clear when I wrote in my opening post that "if you have cable in your house or HDTV in your RV."

I didn't mention satellite feeds ... because I forgot about them. But if someone has a sat feed now and later decided to use a pre-digital tv via the rv antenna, they WILL need the converter box ... so they probably should apply for government $40 coupons before they are all gone ... and the way I understand it, they are only handing out a certain number of "two(2)" coupons in phase 1 and then will revert only handing out 1 $40 coupon during a limited phase 2 program.

Thanks for the link. I followed it and looked at the specs. Now my head hurts.

I haven't received my coupons yet, so I'm going to forget about all this until they arrive. At that point I'll see what's available. Perhaps the Daewoo, Windgard, or Dish converter will do the trick.

My apology. I missed your first post. Wasn't trying to criticize.
