I think several features are important (for me)
1. Pass though. I envision this allowing me to hookup to cable at a campground and not have to disconnect my convertor box..
2. Audio output with volume control
3. Svideo
Not too worried about needing 120v myself, my TV runs off the inveter, so will the convertor.

Thanks for posting the link, Les.
To those of you applying, you need to answer that "no" you don't have cable to your house to qualify for the $40 coupons ... and we don't ... to our RV houses.
It would have to be a pretty long cable to keep up with us.

Seems to be a bit of confusion here regarding cable TV. Present cable (Comcast) is transmitting both analog and digital modulation. Next year (February) they will only be transmiting digital modulation which can be viewed on TVs with a QAM tuner or via a Comcast converter box.The D/A converters (coupon type) presently available won't convert this signal! There is no reason why the cable companies can't D/A convert a number of channels that old TVs can tune but they want to sell all the "special" channels like HBO, Disney, Sports and Pay-per-View which all require their converter box (one for every TV in the house)! That's the sad story at present. I'm seriously considering a steerable, hi gain antenna connected to an amplifier to drive all six TV outlets in my house. I can pick up 16 channels at present, all of which will be digital next year.

Dave ... I agree there is a lot of confusion, but it's my understanding that cable companies will convert and carry an analog signal of basic and expanded cable channels so that subscribers will NOT need a conversion box. Now, you will continue to need an "addressable" box or card to receive cable premium channels, on demand, and ppv.
It could be that it is an "optional" thing amongst the various cable companies ... but I guess we'll all find out early next year when the deadline comes (provided it isn't extended, which there's talk it might)
But anyway, let's get back on topic ... which is, wow, I've never seen such a nice picture inside my rv on my black and white tv!
And I encourage folks to apply for the coupons so they can continue to use analog tv's in their rigs into the future.
Be a shame for folks to throw away a working tv. Also, I hear that Goodwill and other places are being flooded with analog tv's ... which with one of these conversion boxes, could be usable for years to come.

I just ordered a Jensen 1508 15" 12v digital tv for the RV to replace my analog. No electrical plug for a converter box near the tv and didn't want to pay for an inverter to be installed. So I found this tv and am hoping it works.

I'm awaiting my coupons so I can go to Wal-Mart and get my converter for the TT. I'm planning to see if I can modify the converter to run on 12VDC. It might require an additional 12VDC to 5VDC converter, but at least it won't need 120VAC.
Has anyone seen a converter that has a provision for DC supply voltage?
Jeff
After much searching, I found a digital to analog converter box that requires 12 VDC and is normally supplied by a 120 V to 12 VDC "transformer". It would be very easy to rig up a cigarette lighter plug on one end and a miniature plug for the converter box at the other end.
HERE'S THE LINK
You'll have to do a google search to see where you can buy one in the states. There is a company in Toronto, Canada advertising on ebay that sells them, but your US coupons won't be valid.
