Each year we travel to Lake Tahoe. We stay in our RV at Meeks Bay. They rent cabins there, too. The nightly cost for a small cabin is $375.00 (1 bedroom, 1 bath). It costs us less than $400 to stay the week in the RV Park there. My entire full costs for the round trip are around $500. I have a great lakeside view, and my costs are under $1,000, compared to over $2,000+ to rent the 1 bedroom cabin for a week. The way I figure it, I can stay at some amazing places for a fraction of what it would cost me to rent a place with the same view......

My favorite thing to say to someone that likes to talk about gas milage in an RV is, "Oh,what gas milage does your house get?" It usually brings them back to reality. To me, milage on one of these is irrelivent compared to the total cost of the hobby. Heck, people spend half a million or more on a coach all the time. I spent just over 100K. People don't flinch when paying Lots of money for extras that are only for ego or fun but cheap fuel, the stuff that gives you the ability to move about people get emotional about when they have to pay more. I guess its because it was not on THEIR terms...

Of the 30 million that were going to vacation this summer, only 16 million will.

Good! More room in the CG and less crowds on the roads.
